The "Iron Bridge," c. 1908. Located on the west end of Main Street, crossing the Valatie Kill, just below the dam at Wild’s Mill - hence the name “Wild’s Bridge”. This view is looking east, into the village, from the present Route 9. Note the acute angle of Main Street at the far side of the bridge. The iron bridge was closer to the dam than the current bridge. Replaced during the 1920’s. |
| Main Street, c. 1910. Looking east. Mill chimney in the distance. The brick building on the left was Liebschutz dry goods store. Just beyond is the intersection with Church Street. Building on right with soda sign also housed the post office. | ![]() |

Chatham Street Bridge, c. 1915. Note the “Silent Policeman” at the intersection. Barns to the left and right provided storage for the mill just out of sight, on the left past the bridge. The barn on the right halfway across the bridge is, of course, on "the island," and was accessible from the bridge. |
